Volunteer Positions

?    Associate House Staff
Are you looking for a significant and meaningful position full of adventure and reward?  You can train as house staff and work in that capacity on a regular basis.  Associate house staff work closely with the house staff on duty on a regular basis.  This position does require some additional training and commitment.

 

?    Beautician Volunteer
Do you have a passion for perms and cutting hair?  Do you love to work with make-up and help women to look their best and boost their self-esteem?  Would you be willing to assist the ladies of DaySpring Villa?  We need volunteers who can help.  We have a beauty salon at DaySpring Villa.  You would be greatly appreciated!

 

?    Bible Study Leader
Do you have the gift of teaching?  You will have a captive audience in need of simple basic Bible teaching.  We need substitute teachers who might be available on short notice.  Join us and share the Good News with the guests at DaySpring Villa.

 

?    Care Partner
Do you have the gift of encouragement and mercy?  We are seeking women from local Baptist churches to serve as an encourager and friend for a specific guest at DaySpring Villa.  You would be assigned to one guest at a time.  You would need to be committed to seeing her weekly, spending time with her, and letting her know that she has a friend outside of the shelter.

 

?    Child Care
�Jesus Loves the Little Children.  All the children of the world.�  Do you take to heart every word of this sweet song we learned as children?  Is your gift or skill working with children?  We would love to give you the opportunity to work with the children of DaySpring Villa.  Help supervise and plan activities for our children during scheduled events for the guests of DaySpring Villa.  Groups of men, women, boys, and girls of all ages are encouraged!

 

?    Extended Session
Extended session is a unique and wonderful way to serve at DaySpring Villa!  Maybe you work during the week and have a hard time finding a time to serve.  For some, this provides a perfect opportunity to exercise their prayer muscle.  These individuals prayerwalk the halls of DaySpring Villa while they serve.  Extended session is Sunday morning while the guests are at church.  We are in desperate need of volunteers to help answer phones and make sure lunch is in the oven.  This position is perfect for singles, couples, men, and women.  You could serve as often as you would like.

 

?    Food Services
Share your culinary talents with the residents and staff by preparing a meal or assisting in the preparation and serving of a meal.  You can work individually or involve a group of friends.  Meals must be prepared in a Health Department-certified kitchen (like ours).  You would need to obtain a food handler�s permit.  Volunteers may obtain a permit free of charge with a letter from DaySpring Villa certifying your volunteer status.

?    Housekeeping Service
Is cleaning your gift?  Do you love the satisfaction and instant rewards of cleaning?  Unfortunately, we don�t all possess this gift.  If you do, you could be a vital link in the ministry of DaySpring Villa.  You can help prepare rooms for new guests and their families or work in other areas of the building.  This frees house staff to focus on other needs.  Flexible hours.

 

?    Maintenance Service
Can you change a light bulb?  Can you mow a lawn?  Can you clean a gutter?  If you can do any or all of the above, we have the perfect job for you!  Do you have any experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or the fix-it know-how?  We need you!

 

?    Medical Volunteer
Would you like a meaningful aspect to your career in the medical profession?  Volunteer at DaySpring Villa!  We have a cavernous need for medical assistance with the guests at DaySpring Villa.  You could fill this gap.

 

?    Office Assistant
Your gentle voice and sweet smile can brighten the day of DaySpring Villa guests and staff as you help answer the phone and front door.  You would also assist staff with other light office duties as needed.  A great job if you are a people person.  Friendly office environment!

 

?    Prayer Partner
Everyone can be a part of the ministry of DaySpring Villa as a prayer partner.  This is a vital volunteer position.  The commitment is flexible enough to work with the busiest schedule.  Join with the staff on our knees as a prayer partner.

 

?    Special Projects
Do you like to party?  Throw a party at DaySpring Villa!  The guests love to celebrate special events just like you!  Special events might include birthday parties, Christmas parties, Valentine�s Day parties, or Back to School parties.  Your imagination is the limit! 

Is your group looking for a chance to do a special activity or prepare for a mission trip?  DaySpring Villa is the perfect place to involve your group.  Plan a special event or try out your Vacation Bible School material here.  Our guests and children love the special attention.

 

?    Storeroom Service
Are you a �neat freak�?  Do you love to make sure things are organized?  Do you like seeing results at the end of your work?  If so, the storeroom is perfect for you.  Come help us sort, organize, and put away donations.  By making the donations easily accessible to staff and guests, you provide a valuable service.

 

?      Transportation Volunteer
Is driving your passion?  Do you love to get behind the wheel?  You could provide a desperately needed service at DaySpring Villa.  Our guests are in need of transportation to appointments on a regular schedule.  You would not be their personal chauffeur.  You would work closely with the case manager to insure guests make important appointments.
