New DSV Brochures Now Available

The subject of human sex trafficking has gained growing interest by the public, law enforcement, schools and churches in Tulsa and around the state. After receiving numerous phone calls for information on the subject, DaySpring Villa developed a youth-focused brochure that describes what sex trafficking is and how young men and women can avoid the pitfalls of seduction into trafficking rings.

"Law enforcement and schools especially are asking us for information that they can share with victims and youth to educate them on the subject," says Wilma Lively, DSV executive director. "Prevention is priority one when it comes to younger people who don't understand the ways of the world and how sex trafficking is a growing crime in Oklahoma and the nation in general."

Let's Start a Conversation: Human Sex Trafficking and Oklahoma Youth explains how traffickers identify potential victims and put them to work in prostitution rings. This brochure also offers actionable information, helpful tips and hotlines for those who suspect trafficking in their area.

As a result of DaySpring Villa's certification to work with adult victims of sex trafficking, the shelter also has updated Our Mission is Transforming Lives. This brochure provides an overview of DSV's shelter and services for abused and battered women and their children, and women who have escaped a sex trafficking ring.
